When it comes to conferences and exhibitions in the south of England, Bournemouth International Centre is as perfect a venue as they come. The BIC is regularly used for political party conferences and is also one of the UK’s bigger indoor music venues, fitting 4,100 people inside its Windsor Hall. The BIC originally opened in September 1984 comprising of two rooms, the Windsor Hall and the Tregonwell Hall. The circular ballroom-style Purbeck Hall was later added in 1990. The BIC’s size and sunny seaside resort location has made it a very popular choice for political party conferences. In recent years the venue has been visited multiple times by political parties including the Liberal Democrats, the Green Party and UKIP. Alongside exhibitions and conferences, the BIC has a storied history as a live music venue attracting UK and international stars to the South Coast as part of their arena tours. Past visitors to the BIC include Bjork, Kylie Minogue, Avril Lavigne, Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy. The BIC is especially popular with British artists as James Arthur, Gary Barlow, and Snow Patrol have all graced its halls.
