Chickenshed is one of London's most inspiring youth theatres. This theatre founded in a disused chicken barn in 1974 is dedicated to inclusive community theatre, serving up a fantastic variety of drama, music and kids' shows. Chickenshed is now home to two indoor theatres, an outdoor amphitheatre and a bar/restaurant. The heart of Chickenshed is its 292 seat Rayne Theatre with its flat, accessible stage allowing performers and designers to create the most imaginative and inclusive performances. Smaller shows take place in the 68 seat Studio Theatre, while the outdoor amphitheatre opens up in the summer months. Chickenshed's success has led the company to perform at numerous high-profile public events such as Queen Elizabeth II's golden jubilee celebrations in 2002.It has also set up 19 offshoot 'Sheds' across the UK, all of which share Chickenshed's ethos. Don't miss this company's exciting, inclusive shows.
