The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is a picturesque place to catch a show. This multi-purpose theatre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire can squeeze in up to 1,200 people for an event and regularly hosts entertainment such as West End musicals, plays, comedy, opera, ballet and a Christmas pantomime. The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre dates back to 2003 when the local council sought a new theatre to replace the existing Civic Centre Theatre. Building work on the site began in 2007 and the theatre was officially opened on 12 October 2010 by Cilla Black in an open air event featuring guests such as Ruby Wax and Richard O’Brien. The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre continues the market town’s long association with theatre, a history most poignantly marked by the statue of Ronnie Barker which sits facing the venue. Although it is a fairly new venue the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre has already hosted numerous memorable performances. These include shows by the tenor Jonas Kaufmann, the prog rock band Camel and Jason Manford’s 2018 tour Muddle Class.
