About

Known simple as Lord's, the prestigious cricket ground is named for it's founder, Thomas Lord, a prominent cricketer from the rise of first-class cricket clubs in the late 1700's. Originally, Lord's Cricket Ground was where Dorset Square now stands, moving on to his second ground Lord's Middle Ground - now part of the Regent's Canal - before finally ending up at it's current location in St. John's Wood, London. In 2014, Lord's celebrated their two hundredth anniversary, still sporting their Victorian-era Pavilion. Other prominent features include the statue of Old Father Time towards the south-east side, as well as the futuristic Media Centre and the ornamental Grace Gates.
