The Key Club is Leeds’ newest dedicated rock venue. Owned by the organisers behind the city’s wildly successful Slam Dunk Festival, The Key Club showcases the best in local and international touring acts while hosting fantastic alt club nights.
The Key Club follows in the footsteps of classic Leeds venues like The Cockpit in attracting luminaries from across the world of rock to play on its stage, thanks to its cosy 300 person capacity and 14+ policy, which makes shows accessible to the younger crowd. The ska punk band Lightyear, U.S. emo heroes Hawthorne Heights, and Norwich four-piece Ducking Punches have all enthralled crowds at the venue.
In addition to hosting touring talent The Key Club offers four weekly club nights to keep the crowds jumping. The Key Club’s regular events are Bigmouth, its indie disco night every Wednesday; grime, hip-hop and R&B night Shutdown on Thursdays; the student alt night Fuel on Friday nights; and The Garage, which specializes in rock anthems and pop guilty pleasures.
Full of independent energy and bearing a strong punk ethos, don’t be surprised if The Key Club holds the key to a great night out.
