See The King And I at the Milton Keynes Theatre

The King And I is one of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic 'golden age' musicals. Following a successful West End revival, this classic musical is touring the UK and visiting Milton Keynes Theatre. Tickets for The King and I in Milton Keynes are on sale now.

Written by the legendary partners Rodgers and Hammerstein, the King and I sets its tale in 1860s Bangkok. The show tells the story of the British school teacher Anna, who arrives in Siam to teach the King of Siam's children. The King is keen to modernise Siam, but Anna is soon shocked by the values the King holds. The pair try to find common ground and a hidden romance develops as a result...

The King and I first appeared on stage in 1951, starring Yul Brynner as the King. Brynner went on to play the King 4,625 times on stage, as it became his most famous role. The musical became an Academy Award-winning film in 1956, winning five Academy Awards including Best Actor for Brynner.

The musical returned to the West End in 2018 as the Lincoln Center Theatre's production enjoyed a showcase at the London Palladium. Now the production is embarking on a UK tour. This tour of the King and I, which includes tickets in Milton Keynes, stars Annalene Beechey as Anna and Broadway’s Jose Llana as the King.

Directed by Tony award-winner Bart Sher, this production features a huge cast of over 50 performers. You'll also see classic songs such as I Whistle A Happy Tune, Getting To Know You and Shall We Dance performed by a full-scale orchestra. We promise you won't enjoy a more grand and astonishing musical this year.

The King and I will arrive in Milton Keynes on 25 February 2020 and will run until 7 March at Milton Keynes Theatre. Don't miss out on your chance to catch this fantastic musical. Pick up your tickets for The King and I in Milton Keynes today.
