Last updated on 18th January 2019

The Steel City’s metallic heart softens during Easter time, with numerous ways to enjoy the holiday with the family. From crafts to parties to egg hunts and more, Sheffield springs into action during the change of season providing a great base for celebrating Easter 2019.

Four days away from the office means plenty of time to indulge in the city’s artistic fare. Sheffield is home to some of the UK’s top theatres outside of London, so it’s a great place to catch a musical, panto or play. The Lyceum and The Crucible always showcase the finest productions on tour around the country and are certainly worth checking out for a fun family day out. But if you’re more music than musicals, the O2 Academy, Plug and the notorious Leadmill are just a handful of venues where you can dance to great bands live.

Beyond its unparalleled nightlife activities, Sheffield also has great sites dotted around the city where you can feel part of the Easter magic. From egg hunts at Sheffield Manor Lodge or Longshaw to venturing to farms to feed young lambs and embark on nature trails at the likes of Whirlow Hall Farm, the northern city is surprisingly cheery when it comes to Easter.
