Biography

In 1990 former music journalists Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs knew they wanted to start a band, one that would be influenced by a variety of 60’s pop and club culture, and more importantly would feature a number of different vocalists each release. Their debut album, ‘Foxbase Alpha’ had a number of different singers providing vocals, including Moira Lambert and Donna Savage, but after working with Sarah Cracknell on the track “Nothing Can Stop Us”, they decided to make her a permanent part of the band. Since then they have become heavily associated with the UK’s early indie dance scene, releasing hits like “You’re in a Bad Way”, “Join Our Club” and “He’s on the Phone”, averaging an album at least every few years. Now, over 25 years since their inception, they’re back with their ninth studio album ‘Home Counties’.
