Although to the public he’s known as Pete Tong the DJ, to the industry he is an icon. Tong has had an impressive career spanning over two decades, securing himself as one of the UK’s most recognised DJS and as an ambassador for global dance music. His pseudonym ‘It’s all gone Pete Tong’, where his name is used as rhyming slang for “a bit wrong”, was first coined in the late 80s by Paul Oakenfold, a fellow record producer and DJ, in an article about acid house. Since then Tong has used the name himself, as well as being the name for a Canadian film about a DJ going deaf. Tong is currently an All Gone Pete Tong residency in the US.
