Lovely jubbly! Del Boy and Rodney are back but this time on stage! The musical cherry-picks some of the most-loved moments of the vintage British sitcom, but weaves a fresh storyline. With familiar characters, but an original score, the musical perfectly brings a new lease of life to the national treasure. So for fans of the hit TV show, tickets to Only Fools and Horses the Musical are a must! The show centres around the two iconic characters – Del Boy Trotter, a market trader on a mission to make millions and Rodney, his slightly gormless but trusty brother and sidekick. Surrounding them are Raquel, Cassandra, Boycie, Marlene, Trigger, Denzil, Mickey Pearce, Mike the Barman and the Driscoll Brothers. And delightfully, ‘The Fast Show’s’ Paul Whitehouse is not only co-writer but also plays ‘Grandad’. Only Fools and Horses took the UK by storm when it debuted on the BBC in 1981, capturing the hearts of the nation with its funny look at working-class life in London. The Trotters’ hilarious tales of ill-plotted get rich quick schemes led Only Fools and Horses to be named Britain’s Best Sitcom in a 2004 BBC poll. It still holds the record for the most watched episode of British sitcoms, where over 24 million tuned it. The musical was in progress when the show’s original creator, John Sullivan passed away in 2011. His son Jim and Paul Whitehouse continued his work to tribute him, joined by a talented cast prepared to rekindle the hearts of the British public. The book will see the Trotters gracing the stage for the very first time and will take their story back to its roots with Del Boy looking for love and Rodney preparing to get married to his fiancée Cassandra. Only Fools and Horses the musical is sure to meet the high expectations of its TV fans. It is still set in 1989, but highlights some modern societal issues and brings a more contemporary vibe. The production features new music by Chas n Dave, with additional music by Jim Sulllivan and Chas Hodges. Through recreating the treasured moments and using a mashup of the sitcom’s opening credits, audiences are now only more in love with the nostalgic show. Don’t be a plonker and get your ticket now to see the Only Fools and Horses the musical now. It’s going to be cushty.
