See Les Misérables: The All-Star Stage Concert at the Gielgud Theatre

The world’s longest-running musical produced by Cameron Mackintosh features some of the most memorable tracks of all time. The timeless score features epic ballads such as ‘On My Own’, ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘Castle on a Cloud’. Now you can hear them like never before with tickets to the spectacular concert version of Les Miserables. Though as popular as ever, Les Miserable temporarily closes at the Queen’s Theatre in the West End. It will reopen in December 2019, following restoration work on the building. But in the meantime, you can get your Les-Mis fix at the intimate Gielgud Theatre next door. For a limited 16-week run, the Les Miserables concert sees a large cast and even larger orchestra perform iconic tracks. Characters such as Javert, Jean Valjean and Fantine return to sing alongside over 65 musicians. The scale of the orchestra lends to the dramatic, powerful score from the theatre production, producing an truly mesmerising experience. Having played Marius Pontmercy in the original 1985 production, Michael Ball returns, but this time as Javer. Alfie Boe joins Ball on stage, where the pair are accustomed to singing together having released two chart-topping albums. Boe will reprise Jean Valjean on select dates. Carrie Hope Fletcher, recently playing ‘Veronica’ in ‘Heathers the Musical’ swaps Eponine, her original role, for Fantine. And Matt Lucas of Little Briatin brings Thenardier to life. John Owen-Jones will also play Jean Valjean on select dates. The concert has been staged in London on occasions, stunning audiences each time. The Royal Albert Hall concert also made it to DVD, commemorating the show’s 10th anniversary. Cameron Mackintosh claims Les Miserables is the only musicals to enjoy equal success on stage, film, and in concert. The all-star staged concert runs from 10th August 2019 until 30th November 2019. Tickets for the concert adaptation of Les Miserables are in high demand, so be sure to secure yours quickly.
