Good Friday in Belfast

View All Events

Good Friday may commemorate the death of Jesus but that doesn’t mean that your Friday needs to be glum. The gritty Northern Irish capital of Belfast certainly won’t stop putting on events, with tons of experiences for you to sample this Good Friday while you’re off work.

Across Belfast, live music venues will be putting on their finest Good Friday entertainment for punters. Pop stars may well be passing by the SSE Arena, Belfast, while up-and-coming talent will be rocking indie venues like Limelight and the Belfast Empire Music Hall. Those looking for a more solemn evening can look for classical music at the Ulster Hall. Those looking to spend their Good Friday in a more dramatic fashion can find it at the Grand Opera House.

If you fancy a Friday night at the movies, Belfast’s ODEON and Moviehouse cinemas can be relied upon to show the biggest Easter blockbusters, while the Queen’s Film Theatre and Strand Theatre will be vying for your attention with their showings of art house and world films. Sports fans won’t feel shortchanged this Good Friday either. Belfast hosts a wide variety of sports including football, Gaelic games, rugby, cricket and ice hockey. You can catch the Belfast Giants at the Odyssey Arena, watch one of Belfast’s four top-level football teams, or visit Casement Park for a spot of Gaelic football.

I love that I can find tickets at face value in a different venue when everyone else assumes it’s sold out. I go to gigs several times a year and always use this site now!
