Now in their 130th year, Glamorgan County Cricket Club has seen a wealth of history and achievements in their long career. Founded in 1888, Glamorgan initially held minor status as a prominent member of the Minor Counties Championship, before joining the County Championship in 1921 and becoming the first Welsh first-class cricket club. Today they remain as the only first-class cricket club in Wales, based at their Cardiff home ground of Sophia Gardens. The Club have won the English County Championship three times and limited overs trophies in 1993, 2002 and 2004. Glamorgan has also become prolific abroad, having beaten international teams from all of the Test playing nations, including Australia whom they have defeated several times.
