This indie folk mixed with baroque pop group takes their influence from music legends Bob Dylan and Neil Young, and are led by Robin Pecknold (vocals & guitar). The group is currently comprised of 5 members, with Skyler Skjelset (guitar), Christian Wargo (bass), Morgan Henderson (percussion, guitars, violin & saxophone) and Casey Wescott (keyboard).
The group signed with Sub Pop, a subsidiary label of Warner Music in 2008, after enjoying growing success on the local scene around Seattle for a few years. They released their first self-titled album later that year, debuting at no. 11 on the UK charts and peaking at no. 3, with their second album ‘Helplessness Blues’ coming out three years later in 2011. The band took a brief hiatus in 2013 as frontman Peckold went to Columbia University to get his undergraduate degree in, but they are back again this year with their third studio album ‘Crack-Up’, making it their first release in 6 years.
