Leicester City F.C. is responsible for football’s biggest feel-good story in recent years. Since stunning the world by winning the Premier League in 2015-16, the East Midlands side has established itself as a Premier League regular. Nicknamed the Foxes, Leicester City play at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. Leicester City was elected to the Football League in 1894 and has played in the top two divisions of English football for almost its entire history. The club finished second place in the First Division in 1929 – its highest until its shock title win – and has won a joint-record seven second division titles. The Foxes have also seen some cup success, being four-time FA Cup finalists and winning the League Cup three times, most recently in 2000. Leicester returned to the Premier League in 2014, surviving relegation with a late surge in their first season back. That momentum continued spectacularly in 2015-16 when the Foxes won the Premier League under new manager Claudio Ranieri, despite odds of 5,000-1 of the team winning the league at the start of the season. The title win was Leicester’s first ever – and to date, only – top division title. Since its shock victory Leicester has since finished mid-table in the Premier League several times, even reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Boasting fans such as Match of the Day’s Gary Lineker and the pride of the whole city after its league success, Leicester City remains a quality side to watch in the Premier League.
