About

Liverpool F.C. is an English and European footballing institution. Winners of six European Cups, more than any other English club, Liverpool have won 18 league titles, 3 UEFA Cups and 7 FA Cups and are mainstays in the Premier League. The club, nicknamed the Reds, play at Anfield in Liverpool. Liverpool F.C. was founded in 1892, joining the Football League the following year. The club won its first English top-flight title in 1901 and reached its first FA Cup final in 1914, defeating Burnley to lift the trophy. However, it was in the 1970s and 1980s when Liverpool really became the domestic and continental powerhouse that it is now, as the Reds won 21 trophies under the management of Bob Paisley including three European Cups and six league titles. In the Premier League era Liverpool has famously yet to lift the league trophy once more, but further cemented its folklore with cup victories including famous comebacks against AC Milan in 2005 and West Ham United in 2006. While league success remains elusive, the club remains ever-hopeful of breaking its 30 year duck. Any self-respecting fan of football in England should sample the sheer atmosphere of a famous night at Anfield for themselves.
