Join us in our lovely new venue, The Abbey Theatre, for a night of top quality comedy. HEADLINER: FERN BRADY Former comedy reviewer, Fern Brady, first tried stand up after the magazine she worked for suggested she write an article where she 'faked it' as a comedian. She enjoyed it so much that one year on, she embarked on a career as a stand-up. Now an established and accomplished performer, her fearless writing and lighting fast wit make her an exceptional comedian. Fern made it to the final of So You Think You're Funny at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011, the finals of the Piccadilly Comedy Club new act competition in 2012 and the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year in 2013. She was named one of Vogue's Top 5 Female Comedians Fern has appeared on some of the biggest comedy shows on TV including: 'Live From the Apollo' (BBC 1); 'Live from the BBC' (BBC2); '8 out of 10 Cats' (C4); 'Roast Battle' & 'Russell Howard's Stand Up Central' (Comedy Central). She also has written for The News Quiz and The Now Show (both on BBC Radio 4), is the writer of the sitcom 'Radges' for the BBC3 Online Comedy Feeds and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio Scotland and has written for The Guardian. Robin is a Welsh stand-up, writer and warm-up artist and is, "wonderfully cheeky and engaging" (Three Weeks), and "a phenomenal comic - utterly hilarious" (Broadway Baby). He performed his debut hour show at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival, receiving glowing reviews including ★★★★ from the Sunday Times. The show was later adapted into a half-hour recording for BBC Radio Wales, as 'Robin Morgan: Proposes'. This year has been busy for Robin, performing stand-up on BBC Two's 'Stand Up At BBC Wales' and also having two sitcoms being commissioned by BBC Radio Wales: 'Home', broadcast late that year, and 'Relocation', due to be broadcast in 2019. Robin is also a seasoned comedy writer for television and radio, with credits including Have I Got News For You (BBC One), The Mash Report (BBC Two) Blind Date (C5), The News Quiz, The Now Show, Rich Hall's US Election Breakdown and Spotlight Tonight with Nish Kumar (BBC Radio 4). His television warm-up credits include: The Graham Norton Show (BBC One); Blind Date (C5); Sam Smith At The BBC (BBC One); The Imitation Game (ITV) and Celebability (ITV2). Also performing: HEIDI REGAN BBC New Comedy Award: Winner 2017 So You Think You're Funny: Winner 2016 Funny Women Awards: Regional Finalist 2016 Leicester Square New Comedian: Semi Finalist 2016 It's been a fast rise for multi-award winning stand-up Heidi Regan. With over a decade of writing experience, Heidi began performing stand-up in 2015 and has been wowing industry and audiences alike with her intelligent, silly, surreal and philosophical brand of comedy ever since. Winner of the prestigious 2016 So You Think You're Funny competition, was a regional finalist in the 2016 Funny Women Awards and most recently, took home the crown at the prestigious 2017 BBC New Comedy Awards. Heidi has performed at festivals in Montreal, Norway and the famous Edinburgh Fringe and regularly can be seen at a host of the UK's most sought after comedy clubs including; Brighton Komedia, The Glee Clubs and London's famous and award winning, Angel Comedy. Confidence in her writing that was not misplaced Chortle. It felt so original and unlike anything else we had heard before hugely confident performance. Sioned Wiliam, Commissioning Editor for Comedy for BBC Radio 4 Regan has a stand-up style of her own. a playful, slow-burn, distinctive routine Beyond The Joke JON LONG Winner of the Musical Comedy Awards 2016 - Audience Favourite Act Winner of The Comedy Store King Gong 2015 Finalist - Piccadilly Comedy Club New Act of the Year 2017 Jon Long is a stand up and musical comedian, telling jokes and singing songs. A modern day Troubadour, Jon's laid back, affable style and sharp writing have helped him find success in several new act competitions. He is now quickly making a name for himself on the live circuit, regularly performing and MC-ing at the capital's most established clubs, such as The Comedy Store, Top Secret, and Angel Comedy, as well as all round the UK.
