About

From a stable boy riding the horse, Red Rum, and a Blue Coat entertainer at Pontins, to host of his own radio show on BBC Radio 2 and cast member for ITV'’s 'The Sketch Show', Lee Mack has come along way over the years. The comedian-actor began dabbling in comedy in 1994, and has since become a household name in stand-up, recently announcing a joint tour with fellow star acts, David Mitchell and Rob Brydon. Within two years of performing his first open mic night, Mack went on to win ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1995. His career transgressed into radio and TV, with his notable ‘The Lee Mack Show’ that hosted many celebrities and star guests. Arguably his most significant work was BBC One’s ‘Not Going Out’, which has ran for nine series - so far - and won the Rose D’Or and Royal Television Society Award. In 2010, the ‘Going Out’ stand up tour was a sell out, further illustrating the show’s broad reach and popularity. Mack’s comic style is described as observational and using quick-wit. He enjoys cursing, which dates back to his former days working at Pontins where he was once fired for being offensive to a member of the audience. However, his expressive yet relatable style has made him one of comedy’s most successful acts.
