When blues meets heavy metal, you’ll find Danzig, an American four-piece band formed in 1987, currently comprised of Glenn Danzig, Tommy Victor, Joey Castillo and Steve Zing. The band formed when Glenn Danzig was scouted by Def Jam Recordings, intending him to become the lead singer of another group. Danzig however was adamant that his (now ex) bassist Eerie Von had to be signed too. By 1987, the full line-up was formed, ready to get working on their namesake debut album, ‘Danzig’, released in 1988.
In 2017, the group released their album ‘Black Laden Crown’, featuring nine tracks all written by Glenn Danzig. The album was hailed by magazines as a return to their roots, going back to the unique sound Danzig had carefully crafted.
