Bringing a musician's edge to electronic music, British artist Simon Green, a.k.a. Bonobo, is a serious talent. The 2000 debut album Animal Magic, completely self-produced and self-instrumented, announced Bonobo as a new pioneer of downtempo, experimental music. Being signed to Coldcut's label Ninja Tune in 2001, Bonobo proceeded to release four hit albums, including Days to Come, which was voted Best Album of 2006 by Giles Peterson's listeners. Bonobo's style changed with his fourth album Black Sands, which expanded the musician's style to include Gamelan, Afrobeat and Middle Eastern music influences. Bonobo, often touring solo and performing DJ sets, decided to join the trend of playing with a full band in 2014, himself playing mainly bass guitar. Fans of the gifted artist anticipate a new album this year!
