The ‘Wannabe’ stars recently made ‘Headlines’ with the announcement of their 2019 tour. Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Horner, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown have been the source of many speculative debates as to ‘will they, won’t they’ tour again, following a photo of the gang together posted on Instagram in February this year. Fresh rumours surfaced in August 2018 as reports emerged claiming the Spice Girls had signed a deal for a 13-concert stadium tour in 2019, but there was a disheartening lack of details and verification from the girls was desperately sought after.
Then news finally broke, as Emma Bunton declared while on air during her Heart FM breakfast show in November 2018 that there would be some ‘brilliant news’ at 3pm. It’s been six years since the group assembled for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, and over a decade since their last tour, but the iconic girl group showed they still had what it takes to send the media and fans into a frenzy. Check out their ‘Spice News’ bulletin message that blew up social media below:
Causing a sensational response that leveraged everyone’s nostalgia for the nineties, the girls – minus Posh Spice – confirmed a reunion tour is happening. Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger have all expressed their elation towards the live shows; Emma wrote “I can’t wait to perform to our forever supporting fans and a whole new spice generation”, Geri warned “Hold tight, it’s gonna be fun”, Mel B – despite confusing ticket release dates – claimed she was “screaming my head off wow wow we wa” while Mel C stated it was “the right time to do it all over again!” We wholeheartedly agree Mel!
So what are you waiting for? Check out everything we know about the long-awaited reunion tour and get ready to zig-a-zig-aaah!

The low down on Victoria Beckham
Despite the hype and excitement that the best-selling girl group ever will be back on the road, one Spice Girl will still be sorely missed. At the moment, Victoria Beckham is officially not participating on tour, adducing to being too busy with her fashion line. She did release a statement of support though:
“Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”
She also reiterated her sentiment in a post on her own Instagram account, which also reminisced and celebrated the anniversary of their 2012 performance together: “Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed in 2012. I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year… #friendshipneverends #spicegirls”

The Spice Girls broke records upon their first single, ‘Wannabe’, which paved the way for many era-defining pop soundtracks to come. No official setlist has been released but here are some of our faves that are likely to feature:
‘Who Do You Think You Are’ (1996)
‘2 Become 1’ (1996)
‘Viva Forever’ (1997)
‘Too Much’ (1997)
Joining the fab four on the road will be another record-breaker. Jess Glynne is the first British female solo artist to have seven number one hits, which includes ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself’, and ‘I’ll Be There’. The singer also took to social media to express her delight at joining the Spices on tour:

More dates to come?
Despite releasing more dates on the day tickets went on sale, some believe more dates will be released. The earlier reports of their tour deal claimed there would be 13 dates, so perhaps there may be one more on the way. Furthermore, their Irish fans have made pleas for the girls to visit their country, hoping that new tour dates may include Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Spice Girls have a huge international fanbase, after all their debut single ‘Wannabe’ did soar to number one in an astonishing 37 countries. Considering all of the above, we wonder if we’ll be seeing extra dates added to the 2019 Spice Girls tour.
