The Cure are set to play British Summer Time at Hyde Park - and here's how to get tickets

Arguably one of the most iconic and influential bands in rock history, having debuted in 1979 they went on to become one of the first alternative bands to achieve mainstream success.

Their music from 'Three Imaginary Boys' all the way through to '4:13 Dream' formed the post punk musical landscape in the UK, and made way for alternative genres of music to find chart and commercial success, influencing a new generation of musicians like The Smashing Pumpkins and Interpol, as well as starting a whole new style of fashion.

Their melancholic music through albums like 'Pornography', 'Disintegration' and 'Bloodflowers' produced a huge amount of hit singles and are arguably the beginnings of many musical genres, from post-punk to alternative rock, gothic to emo and so much more.

Now the group will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in a very special way, with an exclusive European show as part of the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park.

In fact, Interpol will be joining the line-up as special guests ready to bring us a heavy dose of that 80's punk goodness!
