Having gained a reputation for booking some of music's biggest stars for one-off, exclusive performances, it’s no surprise that British Summer Time have just announced that Justin Bieber will be headlining one of their 2017 shows. On the 2nd of July at London’s Hyde Park, the ‘Love Yourself’ star will be serenading fans with his Purpose world tour.
Justin headlined V Festival this year, which was controversial to say the least. Moody may be the correct description for his persona at his Purpose tour; asking fans to remain quiet in between his songs, and referring to Instagram as the devil… 2016 definitely saw a different side to Bieber.
However, Barclaycard’s BST team know how to put on a good show, and so will hopefully unleash Bieber’s legendary talent, and maybe hold him back from his nagging! In 2014, Taylor Swift, suspended above the crowd on a glowing blue platform, bedazzling fans. Plus last year, BST saw no other than Stevie Wonder, Carole King and Kendrick Lamar take headliner sets. It’s safe to say that if anyone can, BST can.
Just yesterday it was announced that Justin’s ‘Sorry’ was the most-streamed video of 2016; viewed 1.8 billion times worldwide, and 87 million times in the UK. Yikes! Well to see the song performed live, by hopefully a happier Biebs, head down to Hyde Park for BST 2017. And not to worry, if you’re a fan of his not living in the capital, the pop star has also announced a date for Cardiff's Principality Stadium on 30 June.
Supporting the pop icon will be pop acts Tove Lo, Anne-Marie and Martin Garrix. If you aren’t a fan of Bieber, but want to see what all of the fuss is about with BST, then you should grab tickets to see any of the other announced huge headlining slots from Green Day, Kings of Leon and Phil Collins.
