The sensational smash hit movie ‘Magic Mike’ first hit screens in 2012. Audiences were seduced by a stunning Channing Tatum, who took on the lead role of ‘Mike’ in a tale inspired by the actor’s real life; roofer/furniture designer by day and male stripper by night in pursuit of the American Dream. The success of the Steven Soderbergh film lead to Tatum reimagining the film as a live production, and thus Magic Mike Live was born.
After an overwhelming reception in Las Vegas, the show announced its transfer to London for November 2018. Many shows (non-surprisingly) sold out quickly, including 15,000 tickets worth approximately £1 million selling out within the first hour of sale! Due to extremely high demand, 10,000 previously held tickets have been released for all tour dates alongside 20 additional performances between the 15th and 27th January 2019, which are available as of Wednesday 19th September.
The show justifies its staggering sales as the Theatre at the Hippodrome Casino will undergo a multi-million pound transformation to create an intimate and innovative space for the 360-degree acrobatic extravaganza. Guests can expect to find a bespoke entrance, lounge and bar, curated to replicate the film’s Club Domina and offer a night out like no other.
If you’ve seen the movie - you'll know what to expect. Stripping, sexy dancing, and adulterated fun from all angles; it’s no wonder this show is for over 18’s only - and who knows, you might even be pulled up on stage. The routines are truly impressive, where you’ll not only marvel at the ridiculously-toned physiques, but the acrobatic and athletic stunts transpiring before your very eyes.
Take a look at the cast's guest appearance on the finale of Britain's Got Talent to preview what the show entails:
Conceived and directed by Channing Tatum, the show has been at the forefront of everyone’s minds since the heartthrob appeared in London’s Piccadilly Circus for a cast photoshoot. He spent time greeting fans; shaking their hands and taking selfies with them - as if they needed more excitement! When asked whether he would star in the London show, the actor importantly didn’t rule it out. Speaking to the Standard he declared “I would love to come to London. If I dance in Vegas I’m definitely going to dance here.” and “If I ever get in shape again then I’ll definitely do it.”
For now the cast line up includes: Samantha Baines, Jake Brewer, Harry Carter, Pip Hearse, Sophie Linder-Lee, Jack Manley, David Morgan, Ross Sands, Dean Stewart, Manny Tsakanika and Aaron Witter (all UK), Daniel Ralph (France), Antonio Donadio and Sebastián Melo Taveira (Italy), Maxwell Trengove (Australia) and Brian Siregar (US). Perhaps some lucky ticket holders may also get the chance to add a ‘Tatum’ to the list with hopes of a surprise appearance.
Added tickets are available from 12pm Wednesday 19th September, and you can compare tickets and dates below. Ready, set, go...
